About

Baked goods inspired by traditional Middle Eastern spices and influenced by Asian flavors.

Recipes inspired by my Syrian mom and grandmother, using high quality ingredients sourced from local markets in Southern California. Curated to appeal to the bread and pastry lover looking for something unique, authentic, and not too sweet.

Mixing Asian and Middle Eastern flavors

You may have noticed I’m obsessed with sesame seeds.

We use them a lot in Syria, from savory to sweet dishes, it’s a staple. And Syrian spices and flavors are in my DNA. It’s a reminder of my heritage and summers visiting family.

After moving to Southern California, I’ve been surrounded by an incredible depth of Asian culture and delicious food. I’ve found an interesting overlap in spices from Asia and the Middle East. And now I can’t help but combine them.

How it started

I grew up between Saudi Arabia and Syria watching my mom run her own baking business from home.

I remember watching my mom make all kinds of cakes and pizzas as a kid. We had dozens of cake tins lining our kitchen walls.

Inspired by my mom’s creativity and passion for baking, I’m following in her footsteps.

Where we’re going

I’ve created modern bakes incorporating Middle Eastern spices and flavor profiles inspired by my mom’s deep knowledge of Middle Eastern flavors and baking.

But, there are SO many flavor profiles to explore. I have lots more cookie recipe ideas that are in the works! And I'll be working on my bread skills to offer more variety, so stay tuned.
