Syria is known for its Damask Rose specific to the region and it’s used to make rose water and rose petal jam. It’s a subtle floral fragrance and the jam is common at any home in Syria. People typically make their own jams at home. My nana was famous for her rose petal jam, apricot, and strawberry jam.

I wanted to share the flavors of my late nana because it’s sweet, subtle, and full of flavor that isn’t chocolate.
